Canoeing in Yorkshire adventure for all the family
Our journey starts just down stream of Ripon Canal basin where we will launch our canoes.
Starting here means we have perfect environment to learn some basic skills for the days paddling ahead. After a few kilometres of gentle paddling we will bypass a lock and join the River Ure. Then we will progress our way downstream stopping for lunch along the way at either Westwick Lock or a tranquil spot long the river you choose. After a bite to eat away we go, until we reach Boroughbridge our end destination.
The journey usually takes between 5-6 hours of paddling with plenty of rests and sight seeing along the way including Newby Hall.
This route is 11km which will take most groups approximately 5-6 hours to navigate the river passing locks and enjoying the views.
