How Stean Experience! The Multi-Outdoor Activity Adventure!
Times
Session time will run from 09.30- 16.30. Please arrive at How Stean Gorge no later than 9am.
Medical Consent
Please complete your consent form before arrival by clicking the ‘View Required Documents’ tab on your booking invoice, this will allow you to complete the forms online.
Completing beforehand will mean we can get straight out on activities without delay.
If you are organising a group booking you can send a consent form directly to all participants via email or by copying your unique link by clicking the ‘share’ tab. The group organiser can share this link on any social media platform Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber etc
For a young person under the age of 18 this this needs to be completed by the parent or guardian.
What happens on the day
You will have a briefing with one of our instructors and then get changed into your outdoor gear.
After the briefing, you’ll be trained to tackle one of only three Via Ferrata in the UK. That’s a high-ropes style climbing adventure course that criss-crosses our gorge and passes right under our glass-floored café.
Escaping the Gorge through Tom Taylor’s cave gets you back to our Adventure Base for a quick change into super-thick wetsuits. Then it’s time to abseil 14 metres from our bridge to the rushing waters beneath our Via Ferrata.
To finish, you get to explore How Stean Beck. Fossil hunting, climbing and sliding down waterfalls, jumping into deep pools, swimming in fast currents, and more. You’ll also see sections of our Site of Special Scientific Interest that are otherwise inaccessible even for enthusiasts!
