How Stean Gorge Camping Park is a great place to meet up and spend time with family and friends and enjoy the nature and beauty that comes with camping in Yorkshire. The camp site is in one of England’s 5 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Nidderdale, Yorkshire Dales.

Our camping park is the perfect base for exploring the Yorkshire Dales. We welcome tents, campervans and roof tents, and you’ll find breathtaking scenery, outdoor activities, wildlife watching, heritage and culture, great food and shopping all a stone’s throw away.
There are plenty of campsites in Yorkshire, but few can match our combination of stunning Dales views and a fantastic range of outdoor activities and adventures. There’s also lots of space on the grassy slopes for games and fun. At night, the moon and stars are your only light, so please bring a torch!
Minimum booking is two nights (Friday and Saturday).

Are there any Camp Site Rules?
We welcome group bookings of all types – friends, family, educational and corporate – space permitting. However, please read our campsite rules before booking. We do not tolerate rowdy behavior as we want all of our customers to enjoy their stay. This year we have reduced the number of pitches available to allow more space for visitors.
How many pitches are there?
There are 15 large pitches, all include their own fire pit.
How much does it cost per night?
Prices vary throughout the seasons from £12 per adult per night & £8 per child
Is there a facilities building?
Facilities Building (now with underfloor heating): Are cleaned on a regular basis, additional cleaning materials are available for you use between cleaning.
How do we get there?
How Stean Gorge, Lofthouse, Pateley Bridge, North Yorkshire, HG3 5SY. We are walking distance of Lofthouse and Middlesmoor villages. How Stean is approximately 21 Miles Harrogate, 40 Miles from York and 33 Miles from Leeds with access to the A1 about 30 mins away.
From Ripon take the B6265 to Pateley Bridge. After crossing the bridge turn right onto Lower Wrath road (Upper Nidderdale). After 8 miles you will enter the village of Lofthouse, the lane to Scar House Reservoir on your right-hand side just before the cricket ground.
Are Dogs allowed?
Yes, well behaved dogs are more than welcome to visit How Stean Gorge Campsite & Cafe. Please keep you pooch on a lead and clean up any mess.
Do you allow campervans?
Yes, campervans are welcome. Please note that we don’t have electric hook-ups or waste disposal facilities, so come prepared to be self-sufficient. Minimum booking is two nights (Friday and Saturday). To book just select 1 pitch per campervan.
Do you allow roof tents?
Yes, we welcome roof tents. Please note that we don’t have electric hook-ups or waste disposal facilities, so come prepared to be self-sufficient. Minimum booking is two nights (Friday and Saturday).
