The nearest town is Pateley Bridge, only 7 miles away, where brown and white tourist signs show you the way. Follow the narrow valley road alongside the River Nidd and Gouthwaite Reservoir through breath-taking scenery to How Stean Gorge where we’ll be waiting for you.

Mini–bus service If you don’t have access to a car don’t despair – we now have a Public Service Operators Licence for our newly acquired mini-bus. This can be hired for transportation to and from local railway/bus stations or Leeds Bradford airport.

How Stean Gorge,
During the summer months, take advantage of the scenic Sunday bus service from Harrogate and Pateley Bridge to Upper Nidderdale (Nidderdale Rambler Route 825).
During the summer school holidays, Upper Nidderdale Bus 25 runs right into our car park on Tuesdays and Saturdays – you can take a trip up to Middlesmoor or Scar House and walk back. Don’t forget the bus pass!
