A lot goes on behind the scenes to make your experience here a safe one.

At How Stean Gorge we have 100’s of PPE items to safety check periodically (and on a daily basis) all throughout the year. Ranging from carabiners, first aid kits and climbing nuts to full Via Ferrata Inspections and Climbing Wall anchor pull tests.

Every single item has its own unique identifier and serial numbers with set dates for items to be documented so nothing can be missed. All of our equipment has to pass a thorough examination by our instructors, who have been trained to spot wear and defects.Safety Check Anchor Training Pull Tests

We invest in an great piece of software from Papertrail to manage this process. Every time an inspection is made or a shiny piece of equipment enters service it records the user, when and what actions have been taken. Updates are sent directly to Centre Managers & Company Directors.

There is ‘NO’ dodging the system, documents cant get lost and no corners cut when it comes to your safety and experience with How Stean Gorge.
