How Stean Gorge is one of Yorkshire’s premier visitor attractions. We specialise in a brilliant selection of outdoor activities and have a number of other facilities available to our guests including our Camp site, Bunkhouse, Gift shop, Transport and of course our amazing glass floored Café.
Our Café/Restaurant is the hub our site hanging directly over the Gorge. Complete with glass floor to take in the amazing views, which creates a truly unique dining experience.
We are at an exciting phase of our development with renovations taking place site wide to increase our visitors experience. Along with the installation of 6 high quality lodges with hot tubs, is also underway and due to be completed before May. With a further 5 in phase 2.
How Stean are on the search for a Chef who is keen to guide the café/restaurant through this exciting stage of development. There is a real opportunity here for a talented individual to work alongside our great team to move things forward together, create menus and make a name for themselves and How Stean.
As the Kitchen Manager / Lead Chef you will ideally have experience in a similar role• A friendly and approachable personality. • Up to date food hygiene.• Excellent organisational, time management and communication skills.• Ability to lead & motivate a team.• Driven and self-motivated.• Be passionate about creating great food and deliver.
• Be punctual, energetic, enthusiastic with a can do attitude.The main tasks:-• Food preparation, cooking & presenting dishes according to company requirements & customer preferences.• Communication with team members to ensure fast, efficient service.• Menu planning & implementation, including creating specials• Quality assurance & recipe development.• Maintaining a safe & hygienic workplace & completing all relevant due diligence record keeping.• Stock ordering and control
A salary of up to £32,000 per annum, dependant on experience28 days holiday per yearCompany Pension
40 Hours per week (typically 9am -5pm, with occasional evenings for events through the season)
