Schools

This unique geological Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) offers a truly educational and inspirational day out for primary/secondary schools and youth groups. Develop confidence, inspire, challenge and give them an experience they’ll never forget!

Duke of Edinburgh students and staff regularly use the campsite facilities.

Schools generally use there own in house ALAA approved instructors for activities in the water of the gorge itself. WE can provide experienced AALA instructors if required.

For using the water part of the gorge which is not accessible to the public without direct supervision (Abseil & Gorge walking) we charge £10 per adult, £5 per child plus discount when you provide your own insurance and ALAA instructor.

Special arrangements can be made for food or packed lunches.

The Gorge is designated a SSSI because of it’s limestone geologies, so is particularly interesting to geography students and budding geologists.
