Booking and Payment

1. Payment Details

If booking more than 4 weeks in advance, you pay 30% of the total booking to secure your place(s), the remainder is paid 4 weeks in advance of the date of arrival. If booking less than 4 weeks in advance, we ask for the total amount.

If we do not receive the full amount by/on the due dates(s) How Stean Gorge LLP’s management will assume you no longer wish to proceed with the booking, those reserved places(s) become available and we reserve the right to treat the booking as cancelled. If you have any queries about your booking please contact the Booking Office on 01423 755666. The payment process is free of charge to debit or credit card users.

2. Cancellation

Unfortunately there are occasions when you may need to postpone your adventure/holiday at short notice, if you simply do not turn up you will lose your deposit. All deposits will not be refunded but may be transferable to another date if sufficient notice is given.

3. Prices

Once you have booked your place(s) and paid the deposit, the price of your booking as shown on your invoice cannot be increased. The prices, offers and information printed in our brochure are valid at the time of publication. We reserve the right to increase or reduce these prices or amend these offers or information at any time after publication and in future editions of the brochure. You will be advised of any change at the time of booking.

4. Unforeseen Circumstances

Highly unlikely in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales but it has to be said that we regret we cannot accept liability where How Stean Gorge LLP is prevented or affected by reason of circumstances amounting to ‘Force Majeure’.  Circumstances amounting to ‘Force Majeure’ include any event which we could not, even with all due care, foresee such as war, threat of war, riot, civil strife, industrial dispute, terrorist activity, natural or nuclear disaster, fire, acts of God, adverse weather conditions and all similar events.

On Location at How Stean Gorge

1. Arrival / Departure

All new arrivals and visitors must report to reception. Pitches are available from 2pm on the day of arrival – availability cannot be guaranteed before this time – and must be vacated by 12 noon on the day of departure unless otherwise arranged.

2. Campfires

There is a specific area reserved for a campfire in a sheltered part of the site. Some logs are permanently arranged for seating. There has been many a good time had around the campfire with families, groups and individuals, accompanied by occasional singing with willing participants.

3. Barbeques

Yes, barbecues are allowed but they must be raised off the ground and should not damage the grass. Please bring along wood/charcoal.

4. Health and Safety

The Company accepts no liability for any accident, losses or suffering arising for any reason. Children should be under the supervision of their parents or guardians at all times. Vehicle drivers, motorcyclists and cyclists are required to adhere to the 5mph speed limit.

5. Dogs and other animals

Dogs and other animals under control are welcome. Always clear up after your dog/animal.

6. Consideration for Local Residents and the Environment

All land beyond the Park is privately owned and campers are requested to follow the public footpaths adjacent to the site.

7. Cleanliness

Campers are responsible for keeping their pitch areas clean and tidy. All property and refuse must be removed before vacating the pitch. Recycling bins are provided.

8. Noise

We ask you to be considerate to your fellow campers by keeping noise to a minimum after 11pm until 8am. No boom boxes please. The only sound we want to hear is natural. No radios or recorded music. You are however encouraged to sing and play music around the campfire.

9. Facilities Building

Please leave the washing up, toilet and shower facilities, as you would wish to find them. Abuse or damage to the facilities will be considered a serious offence. There is a no smoking policy in all on site buildings.

10. Shop/Restaurant

The shop and restaurant is open daily at 10am and closes at 5pm.

If you have any queries or comments about any aspect of the service provided by us, please do not hesitate to telephone or email us or speak to the manager on site. If you have a complaint please let us know as soon as possible so that we can do our upmost to resolve the issue.

The above conditions are in place for the benefit of all our customers.
Any persons who are not prepared to abide by them will be asked to leave.
