What’s it all about?
A chance to master the art of the open canoe. You will be split into pairs and taught the skills needed to pilot your craft. Each group has a maximum of 8 participants accompanied by a qualified British Canoe Union instructor
How safe is it?
Each session is planned with safety in mind and begins with a safety briefing by one of our instructors. All safety equipment is then provided. You will then launch your canoe and get to grips with how it works, you will have the opportunity to try out different canoe techniques, play various fun games and weather permitting go on a voyage to take in the beautiful scenery of Scar House Reservoir .
What do I need to bring?
You will need comfortable clothing and footwear with a good tread – wellies are ideal. You will get damp and it isn’t unusual to get really wet. You will be provided with all necessary safety equipment.
