What’s it all about?
CANOEING in Yorkshire- A chance to master the art of the open canoe. You will be split into pairs and taught the skills needed to pilot your craft. Each group has a maximum of 8 participants accompanied by a qualified British Canoe Union instructor

KAYAKING – Whilst out on the water you will learn how to steer, control and maneuver your kayak. If you are up for a challenge there are plenty of chances to join in with some tasks which will test your balance and team work.

BCU COURSES
Flat Water and White Water River Trips - If you fancy something a little different come along to experience a relaxing half or full day trip along one of North Yorkshire’s waterways, or for the more daring a splash down some white water rapids.
How safe is it?
Each session is planned with safety in mind and begins with a safety briefing by one of our instructors. All safety equipment is then provided. You will then launch your canoe and get to grips with how it works, you will have the opportunity to try out different canoe techniques, play various fun games and weather permitting go on a voyage to take in the beautiful scenery of Scar House Reservoir .
What do I need to bring?
You will need comfortable clothing and footwear with a good tread. You will get damp and it isn’t unusual to get really wet. You will be provided with all necessary safety equipment.
