Rock Climbing
Join us and see if you have a head for heights. Our rock climbing sessions will put you on the rock face to test your nerve and skill. Brimham rocks is a natural adventure playground and hosts a variety of different rock climbing routes so whatever your ability we will find something for you to try.
Caving
Want something a bit different and dirty? Let our instructors take you caving at How Stean and other Nidderdale caves. Our trips can be tailored to your needs. If you're a bit apprehensive about squeezing through tight, dark tunnels, don’t worry; we can take you through the huge caverns of Nidderdale where at the most you might have to crouch down.
Canoeing
For those who like to bob about in the water, How Stean can take you on an action packed Canadian canoe trip; ideal for all the family no experience needed. Enjoy the spectacular scenery, paddle your canoe, jump in, splash around or attempt to stay dry... the options are endless. Our trips are instructed by BCU qualified instructors who will look after you throughout.
Families
An action-packed day of outdoor activities for all the family guaranteed - come rain or shine! Armed with hard hat and torch, children love scrambling through the gorge and exploring the caves. Take off and enjoy the surrounding countryside; use How Stean Gorge as your base for a day's hike or mountain biking. Join us for a fun packed family day out!
Groups
Looking for an outdoor adventure? How Stean Gorge offers an exciting experience of guided tours and outdoor pursuits including abseiling, gorge scrambling, caving and canoeing all in one location. Perfectly suited to corporate, educational, pre-wedding and youth groups. The 50 cover restaurant is also ideal for functions and parties.
Camping
Too much to fit into one day? Bring a tent and stay on our campsite or try our new 6 man Tipi. With 30 tent pitches available, it’s a great place to meet up with friends and family! On site restaurant and facilities makes the experience a real pleasure! Our site is peaceful and relaxing and ideally placed for exploring the wonders of the Yorkshire Dales.
