Get kitted up in harness and helmet and enjoy the challenge of our unique Ultimate Via Ferrata. Following that you will get changed into a wetsuit and experience the thrill of the 40 ft Abseil. From the bridge you descend into the gushing water below. You will then go Gorge Walking / ghyll scrambling Feel the force of the water as you forge your way upstream. Climb through waterfalls and deep pools before you turn around and enjoy sliding down waterspouts and going with the flow back to the beginning.
A well-earned lunch will then be provided in our café before starting on the afternoon adventures. In the afternoon you will head to Scar House Reservoir for a session of open canoeing before exploring some of the caves and underground passages which are all around us in Upper Nidderdale.

Camping under the stars - Let's make it a weekend of adventure
With a 3 star campsite and lots more to see and do, you could make it a weekend to remember.
'You offered a great range of activities - in the day there was something everyone wanted to try and something everyone wasn't so sure about. We couldn't have been happier with our decision. The day was a fantastic experience that we will all cherish for a long time to come. Monty was great company and support. '
Mrs D, Leeds. Big 5 - celebrating son's 11th Birthday
I loved every part of the day and can't wait to come back. It was something totally different for us to do, we both like outdoor things but have never done anything like this. We both conquered a lot of fears that day too while enjoying it. 🙂

The Big 5 – Multi Activity Day FAQs
What do I need to bring?
We recommend you wear old, comfortable clothes and trainers. You will be brushing the gorge walls during the Via Ferrata so be prepared to get dirty. When Gorge scrambling and abseiling you will be wearing a wetsuit and you will need swimwear to wear underneath and an old pair of shorts to wear over the top to protect the wetsuit bottom and yours! We recommend you wear old trainers or wellies but don’t forget to bring dry footwear for when you have finished. We supply all safety equipment.
For caving and canoeing you will need a set of clothes to wear underneath your all in one caving suit.
Can I take the whole family?
Of course! Anybody aged 7 or over can take part. Those who do not take part can watch the via ferrata, abseil and part of the gorge scrambling from the bridge and then while away the rest of the time exploring the gorge and caves or enjoying refreshments in our onsite café. Children will be well occupied in our play area right next to the café. Please note children must be accompanied by an adult.
Is it safe?
Yes. All our activities are supervised by our highly trained and experienced instructors.
